Putting up some pictures today is the boxes I made for Mia she wanted boxes to hold down some heilum filled ballons and the theme of the party is Horses this year. so she picked the stamps and we made a prototype. Then she let me know she wanted 10 boxes, well sorry I can't get the scan to load will work on it later

Mia loves the craft room and is doing her own thing now loves abstract art. These are two canvas she recently did. We have a couple of drawing s that Michelle is going to enter into the fair this year. They are studing National Forests at school and that is where the one canvas idea is from.

Here is it end of April and we had snow this am but all the green plants and bushes look wonderful.

This is Mia's school picture she is growing up so fast. I so enjoy the sleepovers she has here.

Cherry Blossoms at Salem Capital
Tulip festival is out in country near Salem and all the homes in the area have the yellow daffodils. It was a bit cool and breezy while we were here.

Another Oregon Festival, this one is the Tulip Festival close to Woodburn and they have been doing it for 24 years

After the festival we headed to lunch and then the craft warehouse and that was fun and very interesting. In the artificial flower section they had birds chirping, in the Fabric was Jungle sounds, Mia and I had a ball. oh yes got a few craft things some things to do for Christmas. Also stopped at Rubberstamp store called StampinCat of course my kind of stamp store.

I so enoyed staying with Jerri Sue and we had great fin in her new stamp room

Flowers at Marianne's she is 82 and has an acre of land she cares for and her flowers were such a wonderful sight.

Marianne and Sylvestor and the cat remembered me so we had a grand time. She said he stayed by the front door two days after I left.

I know it has been a long time, Just returned from CA spent a week there. Flew into Ontario and Jerri Sue picked me up and less than an hour off the plane was in a stamp store. Then I am telling her all Oregonians stop at " in and out " and up popped a sign for IN and Out so there we had lunch. Then to second stamp store. Spent the night and next morning Jerri Sue took me to Oxnard to spend two days with Marianne one of my dear Bible study friends, Marianne fed us lunch and Jerri Sue was off back to Phelen. Spent a wonderful day with Marianne. Next morning we went to Church pre Bible study, the surprise on some of there faces to see me. They question was I returning to CA. NO ,No No. I shared my outlook on moving to OR and then after Bible study, 7 of us went to Margaret's for a wonderful lunch and more talking. She had pulled pork sandwiches, Cole slaw and a wonderful fresh fruit salad. The salad contained the big Oxnard strawberries. So when Jerri Sue picked my up Friday am we got a flat of strawberries for 20 dollars and Jerri Sue's family and I ate on them up to my leaving CA Back at Jerri Sue's we had a grand time read her blog for details since she has already written it up.
yes she did tell Alan that I was older then them when I went to bed early one night. Alan cooked wonderful meals and then gave me a choice of where I wanted to eat out one evening, I picked Mexican since we don't have really great Mexican. It was so good Wow was it good.
Saturday was the Carson convention, very small considering what it was before. Tim Holtz went to Paris France so missed him but did get the new colors of Alcohol Inks. A couple of the places had spell binders the new ones. They had the Momento pads but didn't bring any reinkers so will have to get those later. Sunday was church and then breakfast at a place Jerri Sue and Alan frequent and it was great. Off to class on Glimmer mists, now since I am not into scrap booking As we were doing a book I am thinking how can I use this on cards. So got a few colors for the shimmer effect. Yesterday was putting some in misters for better spray without the globs and boy the room had a alcohol smell in stamp room.
So I read all the way back on plane and it has taken me almost a week to get back to normal I was just tired. It was a wonderful trip and busy and great to see friends.
Bob did fine while I was gone. he kept busy with cats.
Now will see if I can get some of the pictures on this.

The 4th was just great, Mia wanted to come back and stay the night here and watch the fireworks,well did we have fireworks, on our street and the city ones were on the mountain right near us (mile and Half) so we sat on the deck in the rockers and enjoyed very much. we played in the craft room and Mia said "Nana take a picture of me with the pretty flowers and write 4th of July on the bottom. So above is the picture she wanted taken. Then Saturday I took her to the movie "American Girl" which she learned a lot and she asks a lot of questions. So in the conversation she learned the papa lived above a grocery store as a child and had access to all the goodies. Then we went to Costco and got the dvd set of American girl films and she said I haven't had muffins and I need some < I will show you Nana. So she grabs my hand and lead me to them she wanted choc and poppy seed and that is what she got and I sent them home with her,
today the 6th, church this am and Bob made it another year. Mia came over this afternoon and papa and her had a water fight in the front yard they had a ball, lots of laughing. Kids brought a pizza for dinner along with one of Michelle's home made cakes choc with white frosting. On Wednesday of this week I will be taking Mia to the discover museum where she said I can sit while she plays. So will take my Zen along and relax.

Great day over cast this am but supposed to be clear for the fire works, and they are a mile or so away from us. Pumkin will have to hid. What is different here there hasn't but a few of the neighborhood fireworks, nothing like down south.
Have prepared my food to take to the kids house so the rest of the day is mine to catch up on some magazines. Haven't seen Mia in a few days so anxious to see her.
I did go to "Hancock" yesterday I do like Will Smith so next wee will see more movies.

Wow I am loving living here Hot days but only running the air a short time daily.
tomorrow going to the kids for bbq I am bringing all except the hamburgers, so we will have potato salad, fresh fruit. Special brownie for Mia. Tomorrow night we Will return early as the fireworks are on the mountain a mile away, hope the sky clears up so they can be seen.
Next week going to a big quilt show in a town 15 miles away.
I enjoyed talking with Jerri Sue and her mom today, aso glad we have unlimited phone call available.
Who knows next week you might get a call from me.

Boy am I getting slow. I mailed out several cards on 5/28 and 5/30 and they are sure taking their time getting to the people. So mail must be really slow from here.
Well has almost finished doctor meetings and tests. echogram show fine heart. have bone density scan on MOnday, My doctor wondered why they hadn't done that a long time ago since I have decompression fractures?? Today I got my new c-pap machine and boy have they improved things. People are so nice here.
Still a bit cool here and windy but not like the santa anna winds?
I picked up MIa yesterday from school and spent a few house with her, we just did what ever she wanted. When she put scooby do dvd on I said not again, she said that is what Nana's do: with a twinkle in her eye. I get to have her all day on the 13th and 14 of the month. Saturday --Jack and Mia are taking us to the High desert Museum, and she is anxious to show papa her favorite things.
One of Michelle's parents was going to get rid of her mom's stamps so I got three sets of Stampin up stamps. Mia played with the stencils she loves those things. I got some embossing powder and cat eyes chalk I think. At least she is one of the people gettingthe boxes I just did for MIchelle, I did 8 boxes for her after I used the bind it to put her children's portifolos for ehd of year take home. Justified the bind it. lol
We are spending the money to get the back yard proffessionaly done and they hope to start the end of the month so there will be lots of nosie around here and I will take pictures during the process and post.

Went to dentist. Bob and I have been washing the windows and screens. Now I need to make 5 fantasy boxes for Michelle, hum think I can do it without directions. I hope.
Now leaving the wondows open at night and pumkin abandon me was sitting in the window this am. The fresh air was wonderful. trimmed more bushes in the front yard today also. I am ready to craft now.

Other wise today, found out the sprinklers can be controlled via satellite new technology lol tomorrow one of the builders of this house is coming to show us how to turn the gas on for the Gas BBQ. It is summer out here and even Bob opened up the patio doors tonight. Stay light long into the evening quite a difference. I do love it out here. Pumkin is settling down now as well.

Just not enough time in the day. We had Mia Friday night and had a wonderful time with her. We did some creating, some dvd watching, and her treat for Friday night was a hot fudge Sundae which she loved.We read for an hour at Bedtime she so loves having someone read to her. Sat we went to the park and then to Barnes and Noble for the American Girl program. Before the program started I took Mia for a bit of a sugar lift and she decided on a choc brownie, boy she downed that and said this tastes like hot fudge what has gotten hard. She is a little young but she enjoyed it. The leader for the day lost the kids as she read a couple of pages in the middle of the book and 90% had never heard of whoever she was reading about. Many girls had a doll which was neat to see. A 12 yr old really took to Mia and explained the American girl and how she found her dolls. They made flowers and learned a dance. The 12 yr old picked Mia for dancing and they were having a great time. They provided treats as well.
I saw some really neat things in watching Mia she was holding the door for elderly ladies without being told or asked to. I was proud Nana.
She was pretty tired when the kids picked her up. Jack and Michelle took Bob to the Big R (man's store) in Redmond and took him out to lunch, while Mia and I played.
Yesterday we picked up a ceiling fan for my bedroom and Bob finished putting it up today.
I finally got an appointment with a cardiologist and it turns out it is the same one Bob has, and I have met him and liked him. SO that is for May. I tried the new primary doctor on Friday and I didn't like him my bp was up 179 may have been due to pain. He says I 'll see you in a month. I knew I needed to be referred to Physical therapy. So this am I started and found three sisters who run a pool massage, pulling and washie method and I have an appointment tomorrow am. The pain is back in neck and shoulders bad enough for pain meds, I kind of know everything got jerked out of place when the washing machine fell over and I tried to stop it. This doctor didn't even check me. One problem here in Bend is people do not return phone calls for the most part. I need a foot doctor desperately but they didn't return the call so will try again tomorrow. So will look for another doctor but I really want a gyn since I had precancer cells the reason for the hysterectomy, this man on Friday said why did your doctor keep doing pap smears after the surgery. I was not impressed so will find some one else.
Bob seems to have more energy today which was really nice to see.
Got a hair cut this am and boy did I need it.
So headed to my Bible study now. Then home to watch House.

Wow it has been a great day especially when you can stay home. We got up to about an inch of heavy wet snow covering everything but it was 46 degrees when I got up, so it melted quickly. Then we have had rain through out the day. I worked on the living room again today and it is coming along. But it is 1:30 and time to stop.
Our Oregon realtor stopped by last night with a big basket of goodies. Choc, mint coffee,java ice tea, green tea, suckers for Mia. A Bend magazine, jasmine tea, 3 coffee cups from Prudential, waffle mix, syrup, crunch popcorn,three kinds of cookies one of them Cat cookies, choc covered cookies, special sparkling suckers, pine cones, a bucket of baby Reese's pieces which Bob is already into. That was sure a surprise.
Last night I went to my first Bible study here. It is a great group each bringing there own experience. I really like the priest and had a change to visit with him also. They area studying Mother Teresa and I was able to get the book from Barnes and Noble yesterday. I learned a lot the first night. So it meets on Mondays and will Be a good group for me.
I have been able to do some stamping and have enjoyed it. That is why I stopped working at 1:30 so I can blog and then stamp more.
okay have to stop so I can figure out how to down load the pics again, senility??

Tuesday a bit cool 39 degrees

Tuesday has been my shopping day. So today I thought time to get to "Christmas Presence" it is a house built in 1920 and full of rubber stamps I mean full piled high and she is off on medical leaave open on Sat only so guess where I am going Sat. I have been good at staying away but time to go. lol
Bob is thnking about putting a sink in the garage wondered what he was doing carrying out a pail of water.
Pumkin was out of brand muffins he likes for breakfast so got those for him also. Talk about a spoiled cat. When I am in the stamp room he is in here with me. And he loves the fire place sleeps on blanket right in front. Gas bill wasn't to bad 99 dollars and I am enjoying the gas fireplace.
The housing crunch is hitting here lot of repossions, the house across from us hit the market for 299 thousand.. Four bed room ,2 story window blinds already in , in talking with some of the neighbors seems people bought many of the new houses for renting and that is not happening.
oh yes I love the no taxes when buying things.
Well need to get things started for dinner since we are going to Michelle's for dessert tonight. Paid 3.25 for gas today I am not having a hard time after what we paid in Hueneme.

April 14th

Trying to get back to the blogging, seems still so much to do, working on furnace filters today. Price ranges from 75. to 40 so when Bob gets home from bloodwork will go get one. Probably hadn't been changes since house was built the orginal owner did not live in the house just had it. Tried to stamp yesterday and Mia came over so we went to the park, every housing area has it's own park really nice. The daffidils are blooming and leaves coming out on some trees now. We won't get the back yard fill dirt for a while need to get other things done. But looking at the lilacs and and peoney bushes. Down the street one house has a rose coming long good so will probably plant one of those later as well.
The weekend gave us 70 degree weather and it was beautiful today they are talking rain and maybe snow one day and it is 45 degrees.
Well Michelle asked me to make goulosh and she would make her famous choc cake with white frosting. Haven't cooked in so long having to watch what I do.
I have several birthday cards to send out late hard part is not everything is put in a place so have to find things. I am finally back to reading at night again.
Pumkin is curled up in the stamp room with me and panics when we walk out on him. In the am he comes out with me and then howls to get Bob up.
I love watching the birds have two robins and bluejay comes visit daily.
Will get pictures up this week on the blog.
On Saturday Jack took us to Mt Bachlor still lots of snow and skiers and sleeders were having a great time. Then came back down the mountain to Mirrer Lake and the Ducks were pairing up and was really neat to watch them. Saw a goose from Cannda the other day. The dress is casual all over town and that fits my needs. Seems most own a dog but I haven't come up against a unfriendly dog yet and they keep them on leashes and pick up after them. What I have noticved is how clean the parks and lakes are everyone picks up after themselves. it is beautiful here.

Thought I would give you an update. Today I am so fine. Had a tooth which had a crown put on it 3 weeks ago go bad, started over the weekend and I haven't had pain like that in many years. Pain meds would not touch it. so hard weekend and then Monday had to plate my car to drive since the CA was expired end of Feb. Then how do I find a dentist in OR, great could be a problem so Michelle got 2 names and Everywhere I went tossed the names out when we went to my bank to invest some money from house asked the guy and he knew one of the dentists parents well: so the pain was so bad I called and they got me in yesterday at 8 am, well he is young, cute and a great sense of humor, all the staff were wonderful I mean wonderful, in the end he had to pull the tooth and I was thankful, so had a day off yesterday to sit and do nothing, The hard part is the partical is probably no good and will need a new one and not able to wear the one I have so either have to keep my mouth shut or scare people. So Bob went to Costco 1 miles from here and got some soup for me. A bit sore sure but the hard pain is gone.
Michelle found a guy to lay the vinyl on the stamproom floor and he is pricing the matched vinyl today and we know his labor so hopefully it will get done soon.
Unpacking is fun still can't find the papa, Nana, Mia goodie jars, and things like that yet, can't find the dvd for living room so Bob can't see some of the new dvd's. Even Jack said you might just want to get a new one they are not that expensive, but as I smiled at him I said I am not going to the store looking like this. lol
Jack and Michelle got pink slips yesterday because they were highered late as temp help so have to go through the process again next month; both are well liked so they will get jobs and that process will be done end of April, but it is hardest on Jack as he was raised he is the provider. So they haven't planned the HA trip for the summer till they are confirmed on jobs.
Mia is coming over on Thursday since she is out of school and begging me to take her to the park in this living development so will have to keep my mouth shut but we will visit it. She loves being out doors and even though it is 40's during theday time the ups and others are out in shorts. We don't feel the cold like CA becasue of the lack of moisture.
Interesting my feet are doing so much better maybe because we are on floors and not concrete and I am so surprised and it is great

The mail has been great the leaves and tall flower are cards I sent Bettymay for swap. The pink, lavender and lib card are from Rachel for the swap. The cactus are from Jerri Sue and the Friend with pets is from Jan. One of these days I will scan the inches I have received, once I get caught up want to get back to those they are so much fun.
We are proud parents and a proud papa and nana. There have been three newspaper articles regarding the new kindergartners where Mia attends and Michelle teaches. I also got a video posted from her local newspaper but haven't learned how to import to this blog. So yes we area very very proud. Jack is getting manuals for teaching computers in his school. Bob is so enjoying the almost daily reports from the kids. They are looking for a house as well. Now MIA yes, we do have a web cam set up so we get to see her and she gets to see us. We are still trying to figure out some of the bugs. I must tell you it is so delightful to see her. She is anxious to visit us and they have already told me what they would like for Thanksgiving, it will be a very special one this year.
Now I must share with you; Michelle sent a care package and we got it yesterday, it had many various Candy's and nuts, Mia even sent Papa some mini m & M's. Bob got a Shirt that says Bend OR. on it. There was a jar of large green olives this is the second the kids have sent and they are delicious. She sent a bottle of steak sauce made in the area and we will try it for our Sunday barbecue. The most fun thing is: When Bob came out this am tired and moving slow, I said dear "I haven't shown you this, so any morning you get up and really need a perk up; Michelle sent us this-small package of "bad-ass coffee" " Boy that got a laugh out of him. She also sent a set of Hero Art stamps and a single Christmas stamp. It was like Christmas here.
I also got Alton Gansky's new book "Angel " yesterday. Well I finished a Catherine Coulter FBI series book yesterday. Now tonight will start the new Gansky book.
I am back on Atkins along with fruit my cholesterol raised a bit not bad but doctor said Atkins works for you so back on it, maybe because that it is so easy, limited number of things to eat. lol
Kimberlee was here yesterday and it was such a nice day. One of the Bible study ladies gave me a Micheal's card for 25 % off the total order, so Kimberlee and I did our very best to make the most of it. I see now you can use coupons on Martha Stewart stuff. I didn't get anything of hers I was looking for things to use with Michelle's kindergartner's and Mia and her friends.

Katy made the above card this weekend. She is a creator and loves what she does. Okay I talked her out of this card. It is a cat!!!
great weekend Katy arrived on Firday and we stamped and played went out for dinner and came home and stamped more. Katy lives three hours North of here and on Sat her daughter Erin arrived she lives 3 hours south of here near Disneyland. We have lunch out and Bob Barbaqued for us Sat night. It was tri-tip and very good. Sunday we finished up some projects and Katy headed home in the afternoon.
I have been fighting a cold of some sort and headed for bed for a nap.
I am also taking care of the neighbors two dogs here I was saying how good they have been. Well one of them wanted a soft place to lay for a nap and he ripped up the cushion, So I was lucky went to K-Mart and they were on clearance so got a replacement. Today they are in their own back yard.

Busy day went to Marianne's and Shirley was there and we had salad and pizza and a very nice visit. I then took Marianne to the outlet for new shoes they look somewhat like uggs, lots of fur in side, I still can't wear then to long and seem to press on a nerve acrossthe top of my foot, so I mostly wear New Blance and I am just grateful any evening the feet don't hurt bad.
Did some shopping and wil lstay in over the weekend with compnay. Going to try Jan's new recipe tomorrow night on Katy, Bob has agreed toeat chicken ONCE and no more, poor guy he can always make a sandwhich if he doesn't like it.
Want to stamp a bit tonight.

Hot and sticky today, the sun is looking odd due to the smoke from the ZACA fire which has reached into Ventura County now, they had one more fire set by juvniles they did get that one out. The cars have ash on them each day now.
Into my 3rd Alton Gaskey book and can hardly put them down. Be glad to have my vision tested the end of the month since I know I need stronger glasses.
Sold three more boxes of stamps on ebay think I will get more together for next week.
Have company coming in for the weekend, Katy and Erin, I will show them the alcohol inks and the project I did at the Tim Holtz class.
Talked with MIchelle today and will see Mia on web cam tonight. I do miss them.

Still can't load pictures, keep getting the dark spot, have no idea why. Well mouth is better but I seem to be more tired. Tending to wear out quicker. No partical till Tuesday so staying in the house. Bob is doing the errands and think he appreciates me doing them.
Talked with Mia last night she sounds good. She is registered for school now. Michelle called today and all the jobs available on line are not really available on line, OR law just requires that they keep them on line. SO they may be subbing but it is early yet so will see.
I do miss Sherman also.

Time to write all that has happened, have really been busy. I spent the weekend at Jerri Sue's and had a ball, it was relaxing, energy uplifting and just a wonderful weekend. First Alan makes the best dinner a root dinner he said, beef, potatoes, rutabaga, turnips, carrots, with onions and all but the meat from his very own garden. It was so good. Then Jerri Sue and I went to visit her mom's who has always has a special place in my heart. I made her a pullout folder with lady bugs which she seemed delighted with and she said " I made something for you". We visited a while and then she allowed me to choose from three of the comfortors she made with the stitching, at first I was going to pick one knowing Mia would inherit but I prevailed and chose the one I just love. I will post a picture.

On Sunday, Alan made breakfast for us. We went to church, and Jerri Sue's friend came over Bobbi and she is really nice. We had lunch out and then went to Collective Journey" where Deb met us. We had signed up for Tim Holtz mystery class and it was wonderful. He is organized, freindly, and pleasure to take a class from. One man keeping a class of 40 occupied for 3 hours and he still had a smile, he signed autographs, stood for pictures, explained and answered questions from some of the gals. He had great helpers I noticed. The only down was Collective journeys did not order enough product for his classes and so I didn't get much and will have to order on line. I enjoyed his class very much and I am grateful I have the dvd to watch this week as well that I was able to attend.

I also had agreat time with Fatso and Jingle bells. They are great cats and I loved havign them near me.

It was the first time I used my GPS and wow I think I should be able to drive anywhere. It is great for people like me.

Well an email from Michelle really hit me they are going on a few days vacation to Washington. Have no idea who is taking care of Sherman. I do have an interesting week coming up I am watching a 15 yr boy, now I have never been around growing boys. lol So Justin and I will be hitting a few movies one will be the Bruce Willis movie and will see what else he is interested in.
Have no idea if he is interested in the art thing.
Bob barbequed for us today and we have been given fresh green beans and tomatoes right from the garden boy are they good. The beans were just great don't know if it was the steaming or the Mediterranean salt I tried out?? Have to really watch the salt last week I went to movie and ate popcorn and the next day made Bob BLT's and boy did my blood pressure shoot up mostly the aura in my vision scared me so being a good girl now.
